I have been writing and/or researching for over 25 years – as a reporter; documentary researcher; public relations officer; copywriter; freelance magazine journalist and biographer. The gathering and weaving of stories,  ideas and words is a passion and a joy.

I was a freelance journalist (North & South, Fashion Quarterly, Next); a documentary researcher on Erebus’, ‘Load of Rubbish’Frame Up Films; Blended Families’Zee Films and a script consultant – Arthur Allan Thomas’Gibson Group.

It was a privilege to research and write the history of Michael Park School – the first Rudolf Steiner school in New Zealand – from its  anthroposophical roots in the early 1900s to its establishment in Ellerslie, Auckland in the late 1970s.

See Waters of Double Reflections – The Story of Michael Park School

I also wrote a chapter – ‘Head for the Hills – The Ranges as Safe Haven’ – for WEST – The History of Waitakere, which I was also Managing Editor of.

I am currently writing a novel, tentatively titled The End of Fun for Me. I am relishing the freedom of writing fiction covering five generations of women – each separated from their mothers by either emigration; death; mental illness and/or divorce and how this maternal dislocation shapes their lives.  Watch out for it at a bookstore near you!
